THIS IS A THERMAL FAX FILM ROLL. IT USES A FILM SHEET AND HEAT TO TRANSFER THE TEXT TO THE PAPER. AS PRINTING OCCURS THE USED FILM SHEET WILL ROLL TO ONE SIDE.
Not Recognizing
There is a “leader” built into the film that will trip a sensor so the machine knows a new roll has been installed. If you are getting a “Check Film” error then the film was not installed correctly.
To remove and install this fax roll into a Panasonic KX-FHD332 machine do the following;
– Open the front cover by pulling up the center park.
– Push the back cover open button (green) on the right side of the unit OR push the back cover open lever (green) inside the unit.
– Open the back cover.
– Remove the used core and the used ink film.
– Insert the gear of the blue core of the front ink film roll into the left slot of the unit (1). Insert the rear ink film roll (2).
– Turn the gear of the blue core in the direction of the arrow.
– Make sure that the ink film is wrapped around the blue core at least once.
– Close the back cover securely by pushing down on the dotted area at both ends (1). Close the front cover securely (2).
Print Quality Issues
There is a white rubber band to remove prior to installation.
If dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or received document then the thermal head may be dirty. To clean the thermal head do the following;
– Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line cord.
– Open the front cover by pulling up the center part.
– Push the back cover open button (green) on the right side of the unit OR push the back cover open lever (green) inside of the unit.
– Open the back cover. Remove the ink film.
– Clean the thermal head with a cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let it dry thoroughly. Do NOT use a dry cloth as static electricity may damage the head and do NOT touch the thermal head.
– Replace the ink film. Turn the gear of the blue core in the direction of the arrow.
– Make sure that the ink film is wrapped around the blue core at least once.
– Close the back cover securely by pushing down on the dotted area at both ends (1). Close the front cover securely (2).
– Connect the power cord and the telephone cord.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge roll for your specific printer model. Make sure that the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. It can be easy to accidentally try installing the film upside down, trying flipping the film in a different orientation if it is not fitting.
