THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.

There are four colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so there will be some differences between these cartridges and the OEM.  These differences will not affect the function.

The black cartridge is physically larger than the color cartridges.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

These cartridges install into a color laser printer that uses a carousel setup.  For more information on carousel printers please see the CSR Blog link below;

To remove and install the cartridge into a Xerox WorkCentre 1732 printer do the following;

–          Press the Machine Status button on the control panel.

–          Select the Supplies tab, then select the color toner cartridge you are wanting to replace.  In this example, the black will be replaced.

–          Select Replace Toner.

–          Wait until the rotor turns to the correct position and the prompt is shown on the screen.  Then, confirm the screen indicates the color you are replacing.

–          Pull the front cover open.

–          Open the toner cartridge door.

–          Remove the toner cartridge from the printer.

–          Insert the new cartridge, aligning the arrow on the cartridge with the arrow on the printer, and push until it locks into position.

–          Close the toner cartridge door.

–          Close the front cover.

Print Quality Issues

There’s a piece of tape which must be removed off the toner shutter on the cartridge.  The tape is black so it may be overlooked.  If the tape is not removed then the toner shutter will not be able to release the toner.

Holding both ends of the toner cartridge, shake it side to side a few times to distribute the toner evenly.

Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item.  After a certain period of usage (usually 4-6 toner changes) the drum unit will need to be replaced.

Make sure that the cartridge is fully inserted into the printer.  When the cartridge is installed, a toner shutter is opened on the cartridge.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Verify the correct color is being installed into the correct slot in the printer.  Make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions which may be causing the cartridge not to install correctly.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
