INK TANK – THESE DO NOT HAVE THE PRINT HEADS INTEGRATED.  DO NOT DO THE PAPER TOWEL METHOD WITH THESE CARTRIDGES.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific model of printer.

If the printer is not recognizing that a cartridge is installed at all there’s a chip located on the front inside of the cartridge.  Check the chip for damage or debris.  A Q-tip can be used to reach and wipe the gold contacts.

Make sure the cartridge is firmly pressed into place.  If the cartridge is not pushed down far enough the chip will not make proper contact.  Also try removing then reinstalling the cartridge.

To remove and install this cartridge in a Hasler IJ110 machine do the following;

–          Open the top cover and lift up the blue lever.

–          Press on the front of the ink tank (1), then on the right hand side (2) in order to remove it.

–          Remove the ink tank.

–          Insert the new ink tank.

–          Press on the front of the ink tank (1), then on the left hand side (2) in order to lock it.

–          Lay down the blue lever and close the top cover.

Print Quality Issues

The paper towel method can be performed to the separate printhead.  In order to do this you will need to remove the printhead.  To remove and install the printhead on a Hasler IJ110 do the following;

–          Open the top cover and printhead cover; the printhead will move to the “replacement” position.

–          Press on the front of the printhead in order to remove it.

–          Remove the printhead.

–          Perform the paper towel method on the printhead.

–          Insert the new printhead.

–          Lock it in position by pinching the rear of the printhead.

–          Close the printhead cover and top cover (the printhead is automatically reset in the “protection” position).

The printheads will need to be replaced after a certain period of usage as part of the regular maintenance of the printer.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.  Check inside the printer for any debris which may be obstructing the cartridge from going in properly.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
