THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT FOR THE COMPATIBLE.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.

This toner cartridge does not use a smart chip.  It uses a page counter that must be MANUALLY reset when the new toner cartridge is installed.  If the toner is still reading low or reads that the toner is out then the page count was not reset when the new toner was installed.  If this happened and the new toner is already installed do the following;

–          Press Function.

–          Press 7, 8, then Set to open the Maintenance menu.

–          Press 5 then Set to access the Toner Replacement menu.

–          Press 1 to select Yes.

To remove and install this cartridge into a Panasonic UF-7200/UF-8200 printer do the following;

–          Open the right cover of the printer.

–          Push up the cartridge, and then pull it out.

–          Align the top of the new toner cartridge with the line under the arrow as pictured below, and insert the toner cartridge into the printer.

–          Insert the toner cartridge until it stops, and then push it down.

–          Close the right cover.

–          The below message appears on the LCD when the right cover is closed.

–          Press 1 to select Yes.

Print Quality Issues

There may be a piece of paper held on by tape on the front of the cartridge which will need to be removed prior to installation.

There’s an orange plastic protective clip on the bottom of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.

Holding the cartridge by its sides, gently roll it from left to right a few times to redistribute the toner.

If the toner is smearing off the paper or isn’t adhering properly, make sure the paper settings on the printer match the paper type being used.  Thicker paper, such as labels or bonded paper, require a different paper setting to allow more heating while printing to ensure the toner melts properly to the paper.  Trying to print on thicker paper while under that standard paper setting will cause the toner not to get enough heat to melt properly.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  Do NOT touch the drum.  A soft, dry, clean, lint-free, cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum if needed.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Leaking

This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal.  The protective paper cover that covers the OPC drum helps contain any loose dust.  However, vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak.  This is normal.  You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it.  Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
