THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

This is not a toner cartridge that installs into the printer.  Instead it simply re-fills the toner box inside the printer with toner powder and then is discarded.

 

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer.

 

Being that you are not physically installing a toner cartridge but rather just adding toner powder to the printer there are more steps than what’s normally done when just installing a cartridge.  To add toner to the Canon ImageRunner 2200/2800/3300 do the following;

–          Open the front cover of the main unit.

 

–          Pull the blue lever down.

 

–          Grasp the blue handle on the toner box.  Pull out the toner box until it stops.

 

–          Hold the new toner cartridge in your hands, and rock it several time to the left and right.

 

–          Place the new cartridge on the toner box, and push it in as far as possible.

 

–          Push the toner cartridge down, to lock it in place on the toner box.

 

–          Pull the black cartridge knob, until the stop sign appears.

 

–          Lightly tap the top of the toner cartridge to cause the toner to empty into the toner box.

 

–          Push the black toner box handle back to its original position.

 

–          Make sure the toner cartridge comes loose from the toner box when you push the black handle back to the position indicated by the arrows.

 

–          Remove the empty toner cartridge from the toner box.

 

–          Push the toner box back to its original position.

 

–          Pull the blue lever up to its original position.

 

–          Close the front cover of the main unit.

 

Print Quality Issues

 

All print quality issues will be related to the drum unit or the printer itself.  If the prints start becoming light then they might be running low on toner powder in their toner box or their drum needs replacing.

 

If dirt appears on the printed pages, the rollers may need cleaning in the main unit.  To run the roller cleaning do the following;

–          Press the ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS button.

–          Select Adjustment/Cleaning.

–          Using the ▲ and ▼ buttons go to Roller Cleaning and press ►.

–          Press START.

 

–          The printer will begin the roller cleaning process.

 

–          Press DONE once the cleaning finishes.

 

Not Fitting

 

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.  Make sure they are adding the toner correctly to the machine by going through the instructions outlined before.  This toner cartridge does not permanently install into the printer, it merely adds toner to the internal toner box of the printer.
