THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These are compatible cartridges so there will be differences from the OEMs. These differences will not affect function.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model.
There’s a smart chip located on the back of each toner cartridge which has two gold connection points. Make sure the chip is clean and undamaged. You can use a dry, clean, lint-free cloth to clean the connections.
Ensure the cartridge is being installed correctly and is fitting properly into the printer. If the cartridge isn’t fully inserted the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor. There are arrows on the top of the cartridge which show the direction it should be installed.
To remove and install the cartridges into a Xerox Phaser 6180 do the following;
– Push the cover release button on the side and pull open the front cover.
– Remove the color cartridge that needs replacing. Make sure to make note of the different locations of the color cartridges.
– Make sure you have the correct color for the cartridge you are replacing. Insert the new cartridge into the correct color slot.
– Close the front cover to the printer. Make sure that the cover fully closes.

Print Quality Issues
There’s a white piece of paper held on by tape that will need to be removed as well as a black piece of paper wrapped around the OPC drum which will need to be removed.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge from left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the front of the cartridge. Visually check the OPC drum for damage or debris. Do not touch the OPC drum. A clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed. Do not use moisture of any kind. There is no protective drum shutter on this cartridge to protect the OPC drum so caution must be taken in handling this cartridge to prevent damage to the drum.
Not Fitting
Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model. Make sure the correct color is being installed into the correct slot. Make sure all the seals have been removed from the cartridge. Check inside the printer for any obstructions. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
