Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.
Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and is fully inserted into the printer.
This toner is used in very old Toshiba desktop copiers. Toshiba no longer supports the copiers and the operator guide is no longer available.
To remove and install the toner cartridge into a Toshiba BD-2050 machine do the following;
– Open the front cover by pulling open the top right corner
– Remove the old toner cartridge by pulling it directly out of the machine. Be careful of loose toner dust.
– Insert the new toner cartridge into the printer and push firmly until the cartridge is fully seated. When the cartridge is inserted the toner shutter on the cartridge opens, allowing toner powder to feed into the drum reservoir.
– Close the front cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is a seal tape covering the toner shutter which must be removed prior to installation.
Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side to loosen the toner powder inside. Sometimes, the toner can become compacted inside the cartridge.
Make sure that the cartridge is fully inserted into the machine. If the cartridge is not fully seated, it’s possible that the shutter on the toner cartridge is not fully open which will not allow the toner to feed properly.
Lines, streaking, ghosting, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The imaging drum is separate from the toner cartridge.
