THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM. They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.
There is a smart chip located on the front of the toner cartridge. Check the smart chip for damage or debris. A clean, dry, lint-free, cloth can be used to gently clean the gold contacts.
These cartridges install into a color laser printer that uses a carousel setup. For more information on carousel printers please see the CSR Blog link below;

To remove and install the cartridge into a Konica Minolta MagiColor 2400 printer do the following;
– Check the control panel to see which color of toner needs replacing.
– Rotate the carousel to the color cartridge which needs replacing by following the instructions in the picture below;
– Open the front cover.
– Check that the correct color toner cartridge to be replaced has been moved to the front.
– Pull down the handle on the toner cartridge until the toner cartridge is unlocked and moves out slightly toward you.
– Remove the toner cartridge.
– Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the one you are replacing. Align the shaft on each end of the toner cartridge with its holders, and then insert the cartridge.
– Press in the toner cartridge until it locks into place.
– Close the front cover. The printer will complete a calibration process cycle after the cover is closed. Do NOT interupt this process, it will take about 2 minutes.
Print Quality Issues
For any print quality issue you will want to try to determine if the problem is occurring with a specific color or if it is occurring across the board. Check printed documents to see if the issue is only occurring where a specific color is.
There is a piece of paper on the front of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.
Holding both ends of the toner cartridge, shake it side to side a few times to distribute the toner evenly.
If lines are appearing across the entire page across all colors then the print head lens may be dirty. To clean this do the following;
– Perform the operation described below to switch the printer to the P/H CLEAN UP mode.
– Open the front cover. The magenta cartridge has been moved into a position from where it can be replaced.
– Pull down the handle on the toner cartridge until the toner cartridge is unlocked and moves out slightly toward you.
– Remove the magenta toner cartridge.
– Close the front cover. The toner cartridges rotate within the printer.
– After the toner cartridge have finished rotating, open the top cover.
– Grab the handle and lift it up slightly to the back, and then slowly pull the drum unit out vertically.
– Clean the print head window (1, bottom view) by wiping it with a soft, dry, lint-free, cloth.
– IMPORTANT: Decreased print quality may result if the surface of the transfer roller is touch. Be careful not to touch the surface of the transfer roller (1, bottom view).
– Slowly insert the drum unit vertically, and then push it down toward you to finish reinstalling the drum unit.
– Close the top cover.
– After the toner cartridges have finished rotating, open the front cover.
– Align the shaft on each end of the magenta toner cartridge with its holders, and then insert the magenta cartridge.
– Press in the magenta toner cartridge until it locks into place.
– Close the front cover.
Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item. After a certain period of usage (usually 4-6 toner changes) the drum unit will need to be replaced.
Leaking
This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal. The yellow protective cover that covers the rubber roller helps collect loose toner powder. However, vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak. This is normal. You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it. Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge. Do NOT use moisture of any kind and do NOT touch the rubber roller.
Not Fitting
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model. Verify the correct color is being installed into the correct slot in the printer. Make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. Check inside the printer for any obstructions which may be causing the cartridge not to install correctly. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
