THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.

This toner cartridge comes with a new waste toner box that must be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge.

This is a compatible cartridge so there will be some differences between this cartridge and the OEM.  These differences will not affect the function.

Not Recognizing

There is no smart chip on this toner cartridge.  The printer senses the toner powder inside the drum reservoir.  Try shaking the cartridge to loosen and distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

To remove and install this toner cartridge into a Kyocera Mita FS-1700 and FS-3700 printer do the following;

–          Open the printer’s top cover all the way.

–          Press the toner cartridge release lever (Green) to release the told toner cartridge form the printer.  Remove the old toner cartridge as gently as possible to prevent toner leakage.

–          Install the new toner cartridge into the printer, keeping it level.

–          Make sure the toner cartridge fits down evenly.

–          Push the top of the toner cartridge until it locks into place.

–          Close the top cover.

NOTE:  The waste toner bottle will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge.  We provide a new waste toner bottle with our compatible toner cartridge.  To replace the waste toner bottle do the following;

–          Open the printer side cover.

–          Remove the old waste toner bottle.

–          Uncap the new waste toner bottle.  Insert the new waste toner bottle with the bottle tilted slightly towards you.

–          After ensuring that the bottle is correctly installed, close the side cover.

IMPORTANT:  Kyocera Mita requires some cleaning steps to be performed any time a new toner cartridge and waste toner bottle have been installed.  Failure to complete these cleaning steps may result in printer damage or print quality issues.  To perform the cleaning do the following;

–          Open the printer side cover.

–          Pull the cleaning knob (Green) slowly in and out a few times.  This pulls a cleaning pad inside the drum unit along the charger wire.

–          Take the grid cleaner, provided with our compatible toner cartridge, from its protective foil packaging, and remove the cap.

–          The grid cleaner pad is moist with water and cleaning must be done while the pad is still moist.  Attach the grid cleaner to the printer with the pad uppermost.

–          After attaching the grid cleaner, repeat the action of slowly pulling out and then pushing back in the main charger unit at least 5 times.  It is easier to pull out the main charger for the first time if it is raised slightly.  The grid part underneath the main charger is cleaned by this procedure.

–          When the grid is clean, remove the grid cleaner from the printer and dispose of it.  The grid cleaner is NOT re-useable.

–          Close the side cover.

–          Pull the paper feed unit release lever up and draw the paper feed unit all the way out until it stops.

–          Wipe the paper dust on the registration roller and paper ramp using a soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

–          Close the paper feed unit.

Print Quality Issues

Make sure the above cleaning steps were completed when the new toner cartridge was installed.

There’s an orange paper cover on the toner cartridge which must be replace prior to installation.

Gently shake and roll the toner cartridge a few times to loosen and redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is separate from the toner cartridge.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check to make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation.  Check the inside of the printer for any obstructions that may be causing the cartridge not to fit properly.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
