THIS IS JUST A DRUM UNIT.  THE TONER CARTRIDGE IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

This is a composite item and can be used as either the Xerox 113R00671 drum or as a Samsung SCX-6320R2 drum.

 

Not Recognizing

 

Verify you have the correct drum unit for your specific printer model.

 

This drum unit uses a fuse that acts like a “smart chip”.  The fuse is located on the end of the drum check.  Check the fuse to make sure it’s not loose.  Also check the fuse and make sure it’s not blown.

 

To remove and install this drum unit into a Xerox Workcentre M20 series printer do the following;

 

–          Pull the release latch to open the side cover.

 

–          Open the front cover.

 

–          Turn the cartridge locking lever upwards to release the toner cartridge.

 

–          Remove the toner cartridge.

 

–          Pull out the drum unit.

 

–          Insert the new drum unit into the printer.  Make sure not to touch the OPC drum.

 

–          Reinstall the toner cartridge, then lock the lever.  Close the front cover and the side cover.

–          The display will show [New Drum Unit?].  Select [Yes] and press [Enter].

 

Print Quality Issues

 

There is a piece of paper wrapped around the OPC drum to protect it.  Remove this piece of paper before installation.

 

Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  Do NOT touch the OPC drum.  A soft, clean, dry, lint-free, cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

 

Not Fitting

 

Verify you have the correct drum unit for your specific printer.  Make sure you are not trying to replace the toner cartridge as this is a drum unit.  Verify the piece of paper was removed from the drum unit.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the drum unit itself for physical damage.
