Konica Minolta A11G131, A11G231, A11G331, and A11G431

Also known as TN216K, TN216Y, TN216M, and TN216C

THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

There are 4 colors in this cartridge series; Black, Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so there will be differences from the OEMs.  These differences will not affect function.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.

Make sure the cartridge is fully locked into place.  Locking the cartridge opens the toner shutter which feeds toner powder into the drum reservoir which is where the printer senses how much toner is left.

To remove and install these toner cartridges into the Konica Minolta Bizhub C280, C360, and C220 machines do the following;

–          Open the front cover.

–          Check the locations of the color cartridges.  The cartridges colors from left to right are; Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black.  The toner cartridges are the round tubes, where the individual drum units are located below.

–          Twist the toner to the left to unlock the cartridge.

–          Pull the cartridge out from the machine, once halfway removed support the middle of the cartridge and continue removing.

–          Insert the new toner cartridge into the slot, making sure the correct color is going into the correct slot.  Push the cartridge until it stops.

–          Twist the toner to the right as far as it will go to lock the cartridge.

–          Close the front cover.

Print Quality Issues

For any print quality issue you will want to try to determine if the problem is occurring with a specific color or if it is occurring across the board.  Check printed documents to see if the issue is only occurring where a specific color is.

If streaks are appearing across the page the electrostatic charger wire may be dirty.  To clean the electrostatic charger wire do the following;

–          Open the front door.

–          Slowly pull out the charger cleaner as far as possible.  Next, slowly push in the charger-cleaning tool as far as possible.  Repeat this 3 times.

–          Securely insert the charger cleaner, and then close the front door.

For poor print quality the printhead may also be manually cleaned.  To clean the printhead do the following;

–          Open the front door.

–          Release the waster toner box lock lever, and then remove the waste toner box.

–          Slowly pull out the printhead cleaner toward you until it stops.  Next, slowly push in the printhead-cleaning tool as far as possible.  Repeat 3 times.

–          Securely insert the printhead cleaner, and install the waste toner box.

–          Close the front door.

Streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  There is a separate, individual, drum unit for each color.  These drum units will need to be replaced after a certain period of usage.  If the above cleaning did not resolve the issue then the drum unit for colors exhibiting the issue may need replacing.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer.  Make sure the correct color is being installed into the correct color slot.  Check inside the printer for obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
