THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

This cartridge does not use a smart chip or any kind of reset.  The only thing the cartridge does do is identify itself to the printer using a resistor inside the cartridge.  Resistors don’t go bad so if the cartridge is giving an INVALID CARTRIDGE message then the wrong resistor was installed into the cartridge and the cartridge will need to be replaced.

To remove and install the cartridge into a Xerox Pro 412 do the following;

–          Pull the release latch to open the side cover.

–          Open the front cover.

–          Turn the toner locking lever upwards to release the toner cartridge.

–          Remove the toner cartridge from the printer.

–          Slide the new toner cartridge in until it locks in place.  Turn the locking lever downwards to lock it into place.  Close the front cover, then the side cover.

Print Quality Issues

Gently shake the cartridge to re-distribute the toner powder inside.

Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item and after a certain amount of usage (usually 4-6 toner changes) it will need replacing.

Leaking

This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal.  Vibrations during shipping may cause the toner roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak.  This is normal.  You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it.  Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check inside the printer for any debris or obstructions which may be causing the toner cartridge not to slide in properly.  Check the cartridge itself for any physical damage.
