THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is no smart chip on this cartridge so it’s key that the cartridge is installed correctly into the printer and is fully inserted.  There are tabs on the cartridge that align with grooves inside the printer to help guide the cartridge into position.  Lock the toner cartridge into place by pressing the handle down and then pushing towards the rear of the machine.

You can also try resetting the printer by turning the printer off, disconnecting the power cord for 10-15 seconds, plugging the printer back on, and turning the printer on.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape seal is fully removed.  If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal either has not been removed or broke off in the cartridge when it was being pulled.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, rock the toner cartridge back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner powder inside.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter.  Lift up the shutter to view the OPC drum.  Do NOT touch the drum.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed.
