THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE IMAGING DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENACE ITEM.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the bottom of the cartridge. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
With the cartridge installed there is a locking lever that must be pushed downwards until it locks into place. Check to make sure the lock is fully engage.
The printer may ask if a new toner has been installed. Make sure they selected “1” for yes if this prompt came up.
Print Quality Issues
There is a protective piece of paper held on by tape that must be removed prior to installation.
Almost all streaking, lines, ghost images, and repetitive image defects will be a result of a problem with the drum unit. The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item that will need to be changed after around 4-6 toner changes. We do not currently carry the drum unit.
There’s a rubber roller on the front of the cartridge which dispenses the toner powder. You can check the rubber roller for cracks or damage. Do NOT touch the rubber roller and do NOT clean off the rubber roller.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, rock the cartridge back and forth a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
Leaking
This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal. Vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak. This is normal. You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it. Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge. Do NOT wipe down or blow air onto the rubber roller on the front of the cartridge.
