THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
There’s a smart chip located on the back of the toner cartridge which has two gold connection points. Make sure the chip is clean and undamaged. You can use a dry, clean, lint-free cloth to clean the connections.
Ensure the cartridge is being installed correctly and is fitting properly into the printer. If the cartridge isn’t fully inserted the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor.
Print Quality Issues
There is a pull tape seal on each side of the cartridge and a piece of paper held on by tape protecting the OPC drum that must be removed prior to installing the cartridge. It is important that the pull tape seals are fully removed.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the front of the cartridge and is protected by a spring loaded plastic cover. Gently lift the plastic cover up and visually check the OPC drum for dam-age or debris. Do not touch the OPC drum. A clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed. Do not use moisture of any kind.
There is a cleaning function on the printer. However, this should only be done if you are experiencing minor specks and dots on the page. For bad print quality issues or streaking the problem is most likely with the cartridge rather than the printer and a new cartridge may be required instead. To do the cleaning;
