THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE IMAGING DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENACE ITEM.

THIS BICYCLE ALSO COVERS THE DR200 DRUM THAT WE SELL SEPERATELY FROM THE TN200 TONER CARTRIDGE.

Not Recognizing

The drum unit comes with a clear “Starter Sheet” installed inside the unit surrounding the OPC drum. When the cartridge is installed and the cover closed, the printer will eject the sheet and at the same time, reset the drum counter.  Make sure you did not remove the clear sheet before installing the drum for the first time as this would cause the count not to be reset on the printer.

The toner cartridge is very basic.  There are no electronics or smart chip on the toner.  It’s simply a tube of toner with a shudder that opens and releases the toner powder into the drum unit when the lever on the side of the toner is twisted.  It’s recommended to replace the toner when the prints are light and shaking doesn’t help.

Print Quality Issues

The toner cartridge and drum unit are two separate pieces.  Print quality issues in regards to ghost images, streaking, lines, and duplicating image defects will be an issue with the drum unit.  We do carry replacement drums.

The OPC drum is not viewable or accessible on the drum unit however there is a primary corona wire on the bottom of the drum unit.  Run the tab back and forth a few times to clean the primary corona wire.

Make sure the drum unit is properly installed into the printer and fully inserted.

The toner cartridge has a piece of protective tape that must be removed prior to installation.  Also try shaking the cartridge by holding it by its ends and rocking it left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

The toner cartridge slides into the drum unit and locks into place by twisting a lever on the side of the toner cartridge.  Make sure the toner cartridge is fully inserted and that arrow guide on the toner cartridge lines up with the arrow guide on the drum unit.

Make sure the lever on the toner cartridge is fully locked.  Turn the lever back until it stops.
