Print Quality Issues:

 

INK TANK – These don’t have a print head attached so DO NOT do the paper towel method.  Instead run the print head cleaning function on the postage meter.  To do this;

1. Press Setup.

2. Press yes at the USE PRINTER FUNCTIONS prompt.

3. Press no until the prompt PERFORM MAINTENANCE appears.

4. Press yes.

5. Wait while the printer goes through the maintenance process. This takes about 1 minute.

6. At the INSERT FORM FOR TEST prompt, insert any blank envelope or postage tape sheet.

7. Check the test print to be sure that all nozzles are printing.

8. If the test print is correct, press Clear (C) to return to ready mode.

 

These cartridges may have protective tape that needs to be removed before installation.

 

Not Fitting

 

Make sure they have the correct cartridge for the meter they have.

Verify cartridge is being installed correctly.

 

Not Recognizing

 

These cartridges do not have a chip.  They will need to go through the cartridge install procedure on the meter when changing a cartridge.  To do this;

1. Press Setup.

2. Press yes at the USE PRINTER FUNCTIONS prompt.

3. Press yes at the INSTALL INK CARTRIDGE prompt.

4. At the ADD INK, PRESS ENTER WHEN DONE prompt, lift the meter cover.

5. Squeeze the tabs on each side of the protective bar securing the ink cartridge and rotate the bar up and back.

6. Remove the old ink cartridge and discard. Handle it carefully—there may be ink on the bottom of the cartridge.

7. Install the new cartridge and close the meter cover.

8. At the INSTALL INK PRESS ENTER WHEN DONE prompt, press Enter.

9. At the IMPORTANT – IS INK INSTALLED prompt, press yes.

10. Wait while the printer goes through the ink replenishment process. This takes about a minute.

11. At the INSERT FORM FOR TEST PRINT prompt, insert any blank envelope or postage tape sheet.

12. Check the test print to be sure that all nozzles are printing.
