THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE IMAGING DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
There is a smart chip located on the front of the cartridge. Check the chip for damage or debris. If needed, clean the two gold contacts with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.
Check to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and is fully inserted. Also make sure you are installing the correct color into the correct color slot.
Print Quality Issues
There are plastic shipping locks as well as a pull tape seal that must be removed prior to installation. It is important that the pull tape seal is fully removed from the cartridge. If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably wasn’t removed or has broke off inside the cartridge. If the printer gives a shipping lock error, be sure that both shipping locks have been removed from the sides of the cartridge.
The OPC drum faces you when the cartridge is installed into the printer and is protected by a plastic shutter. Open the plastic shutter to view the OPC drum. Do NOT touch the drum. Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris. A clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Check the outputted pages to see where the image defect is occurring. Try to see if there is a pattern with the defect and a particular color. For example, lines only appears in areas cyan is being used then the cyan cartridge should be replaced. However, if the defect is occurring across all colors then the issue may be with the transfer unit or fuser sleeve in the printer itself.
