THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

This is a high yield cartridge.  We only carry the standard yield cartridge in OEM form.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

We do not have a smart chip on the cartridge we sell as the printer doesn’t use the smart chip to identify whether or not a cartridge has been installed.  Without the chip the printer may give a message that a non-genuine cartridge is installed on the Supplies Status Page and the cartridge will not give notice when it is low.  This will not stop the printer from using the cartridge or affect print quality.

Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and is fully inserted into the printer.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape seal is completely removed from the cartridge.  If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal is probably not removed or broke off inside the cartridge when it was pulled.

For light prints or other minor print quality defects redistributing the toner powder inside the cartridge may resolve the issue.  To redistribute the toner, gently shake the print cartridge from side to side.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom back of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter.  Lift the plastic shutter to view the OPC drum.  Do NOT touch the drum.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  A clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean off the drum.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
