THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

 

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

 

The toner has a smart chip located on the top front of the cartridge.  Check to ensure this chip is undamaged and clean.  You can clean the two gold contact points using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

 

Make sure the cartridge is being installed correctly and is fully inserted into the printer.

Print Quality Issues

 

There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape seal is completely removed.

 

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside of the cartridge.

 

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge covered by a spring loaded protective plastic cover.  Lift the protective cover to view the OPC drum.  Do not touch the drum.  Visually inspect the drum for damages or debris.  A clean, dry, lint-free, cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum.  Do not use moisture of any kind.
