THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

There is no smart chip on this cartridge.  The user will need to manually tell the printer a new toner cartridge has been installed to reset the page count on the printer.  First, make sure the cartridge is installed properly and is fully inserted into the machine.  The cartridge installs into slots in the printer that will slide the toner cartridge alongside the drum unit.

Once you replaced the toner cartridge, reset the toner counter by pressing the LIFE key (flip up the Rapid Key overlay if necessary), then the “2” key, and the START key.

This will reset the page count on the printer.  If the printer is reading that the toner life is near end after installing a new toner cartridge then the page count probably wasn’t reset properly.  Re-try the steps explained above.

Print Quality Issues

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently shake the cartridge several times to redistribute the toner powder.

The cartridge uses a small rubber roller to distribute the toner powder onto the OPC drum.  You can check the rubber roller for cracks or debris.  Do NOT touch the rubber roller or attempt to wipe it off.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind on the toner cartridge.

Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating image defects are usually an issue with the drum unit.  The drum unit is a replaceable, maintenance item that will need to be replaced usually after 4-6 toner changes.  We do carry replacement drum units.
