THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE IMAGING DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is a smart chip located on the front of this toner cartridge.  Check to make sure it is clean and undamaged.  A dry lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the gold connections on the chip.

Make sure the toner is installed correctly and firmly placed inside the printer.

Sometimes a reset is necessary for the printer to re-read the cartridge.  To do this; remove the cartridge, power the printer down, and disconnect the power cord for 10-15 seconds.  Re-connect the power cord, power the printer on, and then re-install the cartridge.

Print Quality Issues

There is a piece of black paper covering the OPC drum and a clear pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed before installation.  The pull tape on the side of the cartridge may have a piece of paper attached stating to remove however it’s possible that it’s just a clear piece of tape with a balled up end.  It is important to check to make sure the pull seal has been completely removed from the cartridge.

Grasp both sides of the print cartridge and gently rock the print cartridge to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.

Check the green OPC drum on the bottom of the cartridge for damage or debris.  You will have to pull up the spring loaded plastic protective cover to view the OPC drum.  Make sure the customer does not touch the OPC drum.  If need be, you can use a dry lint-free cloth to gently wipe the OPC drum.
