These toner cartridges do not have the OPC drums built into them.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable unit.  These are very basic toners that slide into the side of the printer.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer.

These cartridges have a smart chip located on the end of the cartridge.  Check to make sure the gold contacts are clean and undamaged.  You can use a dry Q-tip to reach the gold contacts and gently clean them off.

Make sure the cartridge is fully inserted and that the slide-lock on the printer is engaged.

Not Fitting

We sold two different style cartridges and while both work they, do look slightly different.  One has a blue end that’s shaped slightly different from our other cartridge which has a grey end.  See the pictures further in this article for reference.

Make sure you are installing the cartridge the correct direction.  The side with the label should be facing up.

The slide lock must be fully clicked into place or the door may not close properly.  To make sure the lock is clicking properly try pushing on the cartridge while sliding the slide lock.  For reference on locking the slide locks please see the pictures at the end of this document.

Print Quality Issues

Almost all print quality related issues would be related to the drum unit inside the printer.

You can try gently rocking the toner left to right holding onto the ends.  Be careful as this is an unsealed cartridge toner powder may leak.  Do this over a trash can.
