THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUMS BUILT IN. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
These cartridges are compatible cartridges and may appear to look different from the OEM. These cartridges are also the same as the Dell 3000 and 3100 series printer cartridges, just with a different chip.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.
These cartridges use a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
Check to make sure that the cartridge is installed properly and that it is fully locked into the printer. When changing the cartridges you will choose the color on the control panel. There’s a carousel inside the printer that rotates to the color cartridge you select. Make sure the handhold lock is fully locked. You must twist the handle on the cartridge to rotate it and lock the cartridge into place.
Print Quality Issues
Almost all repetitive image defects, ghosting, lines, and streaking issues will be an issue with the drum unit. The drum unit is separate and is a maintenance item that will need to changed usually after 4-6 toner changes.
There’s a pull tape seal on the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.
For light printing you can try shaking the cartridge by holding it by its ends and shaking it left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
