THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE IMAGING DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape on the side of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape seal is fully removed.  If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably hasn’t been removed or it has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.

Holding the toner cartridge firmly with both hands, rock the toner cartridge left and right, forward and backward, to distribute the toner evenly.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter.  Lift the shutter to view the OPC drum.  Do NOT touch the drum.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  If need be, gently wipe the OPC drum using a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
