THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
These are not toner cartridges that install into the printer. Instead you simply re-fill the toner box inside the printer with toner powder and then the container is discarded.
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer.
Being that you are not physically installing a toner cartridge but rather just adding toner powder to the printer there are more steps than what’s normally done when just installing a cartridge. You must push down a blue lever on the front of the printer behind the printer cover to open up the toner box. Then you will install the toner cartridge into the toner box and click into place.
You will need to pull out the plastic tape strip tab on the toner cartridge until STOP appears on the strip. At this point you will tap the top of the cartridge to release the toner powder into the toner box. Then push the strip tab back into the cartridge and remove the now empty cartridge from the toner box.
After that, just push the toner box back in and lift the blue lever back up.
Print Quality Issues
All print quality issues will be related to the drum unit or the printer itself. If the prints start becoming light then they might be running low on toner powder in their toner box or their drum needs replacing.
The OPC drum is a maintenance item that will eventually need to be changed after around 55,000 pages.
