THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE IMAGING DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer.

The printer this cartridge is used in is an older printer.  There’s no smart chip on the cartridge.  Instead HP recommends replacing the cartridge once the prints become light and shaking doesn’t resolve the issue.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape seal that must be removed from the side of the cartridge prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape has been fully removed from the cartridge.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge covered by a spring loaded plastic shutter.  Lift the shutter up to view the drum.  Do NOT touch the OPC drum.  Check for any damage or debris.  You can use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the drum.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently roll the cartridge left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
