This toner cartridge does not have the OPC drum built into it.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable unit.

 

The waste toner bin comes with and is attached to the cartridge.  The waste toner bin holds the excess toner powder that accumulates through normal printing.  If the you get a message that the waste toner bin is full you can empty it out to clear the message.

Not Recognizing

 

These cartridges do not have any type of reset chip. There is a sensor inside the cartridge that physically measures the mixture of toner to developer. As long as there is enough toner for a good mixture level, the toner lamp will stay off.

 

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

 

Ensure that the cartridge is installed properly and is fully inserted into the printer.

 

Print Quality Issues

 

There is a plastic protective cover that must be removed from the front of the cartridge prior to installation.  Ensure this cover is removed.  Also, holding the cartridge by its ends gently rock the cartridge left to right a few times to make sure the toner is evenly distributed within the cartridge.

Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating defects will almost always be caused by the drum unit.  The drum is a separate, replaceable item.  We do sell replacement drum units for this cartridge.
