THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is no smart chip on this cartridge so it’s key that the cartridge is installed correctly into the printer and is fully inserted.  There are tabs located on each side of the print cartridge which align with slots inside the printer to help guide the cartridge.

You can also try resetting the printer by turning the printer off, disconnecting the power cord for 10-15 seconds, plugging the printer back on, and turning the printer on.

Print Quality Issues

There is a plastic clip on the back of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.  There’s also a removable plastic cover held on by tape that covers the OPC drum which must be removed.

Gently shake the print cartridge side to side a few times to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge.  Do NOT touch the drum.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.  Be careful with handling the cartridge.  There is no plastic shutter protecting the OPC drum so it can easily be damaged or nicked when setting down on surfaces.

A fuser cleaner is provided with the toner cartridge to replace the old fuser cleaner.  The old fuser cleaner will be visible once the old toner cartridge is taken out of the printer.  The fuser cleaner will have a green handle.  Pull the old fuser cleaner out of the printer and snap in the new fuser cleaner.
