THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
This cartridge does not have a smart chip. Instead, there is a fuse on the side of the cartridge that acts like a smart chip. After a period of usage the fuse will break which tells the printer the cartridge needs to be replaced. Check the fuse to make sure it hasn’t become dislodged from its holder or damaged.
Make sure the cartridge is installed properly and is fully inserted into the printer.
Print Quality Issues
There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this pull tape seal is completely removed. If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably hasn’t been removed or has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.
Gently shake the cartridge to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the shutter to view the OPC drum. Do NOT touch the drum. Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris. A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
